The Umbrella Academy TV-Show Review 2019 Cast Crew
Creator: Jeremy Slater

Stars: Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda

Well, I did not expect to dock it, but I saw that I was awake this morning, I was hooked and here we are. In general, it was VERY good and I definitely did not expect that I would like it as much as I did. I will say that I think the program lost some steam after a strong start and that it did not reach the same momentum until the last episodes, but it maintained the quality in another way and those cliffhangers kept me going.

All about storytelling, acting and the soundtrack was very witty and fun, plus I had a lot of heart and credible relationships. The Fav scene in general was the introduction to Episode 2 when Number 5 is running in time and gets stuck, a sequence so well done. I also loved the fight sequences and almost any scene where the brothers argued. Throughout the show, there is a feeling that the creators fully believe in this crazy and creative story and are counting on it with confidence, making you believe in it as well. My favorite character has to be Klaus; Since Misfits, I've only seen Rob Sheehan as a clean-cut nerd in Mortal Instruments / Engines, so it was really great to see him as a hilarious Nathan disaster-and again. The number 5 was also a standout, the gag of him was an old man in the body of a young girl who should have grown old, but he made me laugh all the time.

Other highlights were the special effects and the fantastic performance of Ellen Page. Also, can we just appreciate how well written this was as a joint show? Almost all the characters sympathized with their motives, with elements that made them pleasant and easy to relate.

My only criticisms are that shorter episodes or fewer could have solved some rhythm problems in the middle, that the incest story should definitely have been left behind in the comics, and I expected a more satisfying ending, but the good overcomes absolutely the bad. I hope fans of superhero shows give it a try because it's a beautiful little ridiculous gem of a show and ... I need to see what happens next. And yes, the music, incredible work with all the musical sequences.

Absolutely predictable in every way, up to their individual rhythms and resolutions. That said, so well done that predictability is irrelevant. It's as transformative, transgressive and superlative as the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. This is what DC Vertigo of the current year WISHES could be and do.

It is not "another" layer show, this is something unique and entertaining with some parts that really move emotionally. Getting rid of Disneymarvel and replacing it with this and similar ones guarantees Netflix a dangerously large new audience that will also be part of the crowd of Riverdale Glee-lite and the bottomless chumbucket of CW.

Do not bother to see other cape shows or sit through painful combats like Captain Marvel, just see the Umbrella Academy a few times and do not catch up with stupid wounds but with the subtleties of the performances. The great work of the cast in general more than chokes Ellen Page, which in turn makes her acting not really perfect for her role.

This has the alchemical "something" where everything went well. As with Stranger Things, I expect a second season of garbage and an intolerable third, but for now let's just share and adore this perfect moment in time.

The Old Man Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

Dan Chase, the lead in FX's new drama The Old Man, is on the run. They're chasing him, do you see what they did there? — by various US government agencies, at least one deadly contractor, and international adversaries. He is an intelligent man, but his main antagonist is time: a past that catches up with him and a future that becomes more finite. It's a role made for Jeff Bridges, one of those actors who was born to and into Hollywood stardom and has gracefully grown from golden boy to septuagenarian savant on movie screens across the country. As a thriller, The Old Man doesn't always deliver. His internal logic is spotty and his backstory shallow. As a showcase for Bridges and John Lithgow, the rare actor almost able to match his indelible co-star role in another indelible role, The Old Man is far more satisfying, though audiences will yearn for a more direct interplay between the two perfect notes. drives and less of the genre filler that stretches three of the four e...
