Dracula TV-Show Review 2019 Cast Crew

Creators:Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat
Stars: Claes Bang, Morfydd Clark, Mark Gatiss
Since Bram Stoker investigated his Gothic novel of 1897 in this same building, there is a certain logic for Dracula to become the first theatrical show presented here in the 178-year history of the Library of London. The production is the work of the Creation Theater, based in Oxford, specific to the site, and turns the normally quiet reading room into a place of macabre horror, but not for the first time, I thought that the English vice is the adaptation.
Since Kate Kerrow's report was to provide a script for two actors, she faced an obvious problem that condensed a novel that uses multiple storytellers. His solution is to focus on the relationship between sexually dysfunctional lawyer Jonathan Harker and his more adventurous wife, Mina, who seeks to understand the mysterious death of her friend Lucy. This means that the two actors have to play many other characters, including Dr. Seward, Professor Van Helsing and Renfield, and that Harker's fatal visit to Dracula's castle is nearing the end of the story and not his point. of departure.

There are two great difficulties with this. The story would be practically incomprehensible unless you have read the book and it is difficult to follow, even if you have done so. Kerrow also does not seem sure of the importance of Dracula sucking blood, whom we never see. His vampirism is presented as a harmful virus that infects future generations and a symbol of a demonic sexual force to which the repressed Harkers finally surrender. I've heard about the Library of Congress, but I've never seen Congress in the library before.
Confronted with a confusing narrative, Helen Tennison's production launches works: sinister music, vulpine howls, casket covers that rise from the upper balcony and even a pair of incorporeal and bright eyes suggesting a sequel to Cats called Bats. The two actors, Sophie Greenham and Bart Lambert, do an excellent job guiding us through history. However, I kept thinking that I would rather have a play about Stoker's complex psyche, including his obsession with Henry Irving, rather than another attempt to summarize his lost book.

The Old Man Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

Dan Chase, the lead in FX's new drama The Old Man, is on the run. They're chasing him, do you see what they did there? — by various US government agencies, at least one deadly contractor, and international adversaries. He is an intelligent man, but his main antagonist is time: a past that catches up with him and a future that becomes more finite. It's a role made for Jeff Bridges, one of those actors who was born to and into Hollywood stardom and has gracefully grown from golden boy to septuagenarian savant on movie screens across the country. As a thriller, The Old Man doesn't always deliver. His internal logic is spotty and his backstory shallow. As a showcase for Bridges and John Lithgow, the rare actor almost able to match his indelible co-star role in another indelible role, The Old Man is far more satisfying, though audiences will yearn for a more direct interplay between the two perfect notes. drives and less of the genre filler that stretches three of the four e...
