Amazon has confirmed that its next television series "The Lord of the Rings" will be established in the Second Age of Middle-earth, which for the most diehard fans of the J. R. R. Tolkien franchise is exciting news, at least. The scenario cancels the long-standing rumor that the series would focus on the adventures of a young Aragorn (played by Viggo Mortensen in the Peter Jackson film trilogy). Aragon was born in the Third Age. Some believed that the series could focus on Aragorn's predecessor, Prince Eärnur of Gondor, but he was also born in the Third Age. 



In recent days, Amazon's "Lord of the Rings" Twitter account filled a map of Middle-earth that sent fanatics to a range of theories about how old the show would be set. The finished map was revealed on March 7. with the island of Númenor in the lower left corner, which confirmed the configuration of the Second Age of the Amazon program. In the trilogy "Lord of the Rings", Númenor has been destroyed for thousands of years and serves as a lost city in the history of Middle-earth. It remains to be seen if Númenor ends up being the main stage of the Amazon television series. JRR Tolkien never completed his novel on the island called "Aldarion and Erendis". 

Adding intrigue to the series is the fact that a map published on March 6 included Minas Anor, the former name of Minas Tirith (the white city featured in "The Return of El Rey") and Minas Ithil, the former name of Minas Morgul Both configurations led some fans to believe that the series would take place in the Third Age some 1,000 years before the adventures of Frodo and the communion.Amazon was committed to a series of several seasons, making it possible that the program be carried out in more than one epoch, but at least it will begin in the Second Age The Second Age covers 3441 years and ends with the first fall of Sauron, the main antagonist of "The Lord of the Rings". 

Jackson's films begin with a prologue set at the end of the Second Age explaining the defeat of Sauron, so it seems that Amazon The series will take place in the years when Sauron rises to power.could focus the series include Sauron who builds his forces in Mordor, the creation and distribution of power rings and the destruction of Númenor. Considering the appearance of the island on the map and its legacy in the world of Tolkien, it seems that the series will have much to do with Númenor. Amazon has yet to announce the casting or a production start date for the television series "The Lord of the Rings."
