Netflix has ordered an adaptation of the thriller Quicksand as its first Swedish original series by The Bridge's lead writer, Camilla Ahlgren.



Continuing its investment in Europe, Netflix is ​​partnering with the FLX production company (The Bonus Family and The 100-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and disappeared) to bring its first Swedish original to its worldwide subscribers.

Quicksand (Storst av Allt) is based on the successful novel by Malin Persson Giolito about a mass shooting at a prep school in the richest suburb of Stockholm, after which high school student Maja Norberg is on trial for murder. When the events of the day are revealed, so are the private details about his relationship with Sebastian Fagerman and his dysfunctional family.

The fast sand will be produced by Pontus Edgren (The 100-year-old man who left the window and disappeared) and will enter production in 2018.
