23 years after Bert Kreischer's great story began, he returns to Russia to continue the legend of The Machine in a new red band trailer for the action comedy. Facing a family crisis and the arrival of his estranged father (Mark Hamill), things go from bad to worse for Bert when a Russian mobster arrives to drag him kicking and screaming back to the Motherland to pay for his crimes. of the.
Returning to Russia with his father this time, he retraces his steps through a fierce criminal war and tries to bond with his father along the way. The trailer shows that revisiting the legend of The Machine is no easy task for Kreischer, as he takes on violent criminals, gets caught up in hard drugs, and is forced to kill a man or three along the way.
It all begins with a retelling of Kreischer's famous internet story about a frat boy who hooks up with Russian mobsters. However, by now, Kreischer is a family man who argues with his father about the truth of his scandalous story. It turns out that Kreischer stole a valuable relic while in Russia and the mob comes to take him and his father by force, proving that his claims are true. What follows is a bizarre ride that sees Hamill revved up, thrilling action sequences, and Kreischer taking off his shirt and crushing beer bottles. At the end of it all, even Kreischer's father is rooting for The Machine.
While the trailer shows the relationship between Kreischer and his father, the focus is definitely on comedy. In case you've started to think that Kreischer is an invincible action hero, the last two scenes of the trailer prove that he has a ways to go. For one thing, he can't jump backwards at his feet, simply hurting his back in the process. He, too, is not at all comfortable taking lives as seen when he accidentally shoots a mobster in the head and immediately panics. It didn't help that as the mobster was going down, he shot another mobster who then shot a poor receptionist.
In addition to Kreischer and Hamill, The Machine also stars Iva Babić as the violent mobster who goes after The Machine and Jimmy Tatro as the young Kreischer who started it all. The cast is completed by Robert Maaser, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jessica Gabor, Rita Bernard Shaw, Nikola Đuričko, Oleg Taktarov, Amelie Villers and Mercedes de la Cruz. Directing duties fell to Peter Atencio with Kevin Biegel and Scotty Landes penning the script.
Kreischer is also set to celebrate the release of The Machine with a live pre-show on May 25 that will stream to more than 1,000 theaters and precede the film's first preview screening. The event will take place live at a theater in Los Angeles to be announced closer to launch. In addition to the film, the comedian's latest stand-up special, Bert Kreischer: Razzle Dazzle, is scheduled to hit Netflix in less than a month, on March 14.
The Machine bursts into theaters on May 26, 2023.
