Uncork'd Entertainment has acquired the North American rights to the sci-fi suspense thriller "I'll Be Watching" from Iuvit Media Sales at the European Film Market in Berlin. The film has also been acquired by Falcon Films in the Middle East and North Africa, while Dolphin Medien has picked up the rights for the German-speaking territory.
The film is directed by Erik Bernard ("Free Dead or Alive") and stars "The 100," Eliza Taylor and Bob Morley, along with Bryan Batt ("12 Years a Slave"), David Keith ("An Officer and a Gentleman”), Hannah Fierman (“VHS”) and Seth Michaels (“Red Notice”).
"We are thrilled to have such talented stars as Eliza and Bob leading the cast and a great supporting cast. Filming has been an adventure so far, and we can't wait to bring this story to audiences around the world," he said. Atlanta-based Benacus Entertainment head Seth Michaels on the casting announcement. The film is one of many Benacus is working on bringing to audiences, including Southern Gothic, which was written and directed by Dead Poets Society's Tom Schulman.
However, the movie is exciting for fans of The 100, because it brings back Taylor and Morley. Taylor played Clarke Griffin in the series where she met her now-husband, Morley (who played Bellamy Blake). The show ran for seven seasons and was filled with characters that fans flocked to and enjoyed despite adverse audience reactions to the final season.
In the film, the tech-savvy husband (Morley) is away on a work trip, while Julie (Taylor), still grieving the loss of her sister, is trapped in her new isolated home and must battle her own fears to stay alive.
“I’ll Be Watching” is scheduled for a Q2 2023 release in North America, MENA, and German-speaking territories. It is produced by Seth Michaels and Sara Sometti Michaels under their Benacus Entertainment banner in association with RNF Productions. The screenplay is written by Sara Sometti Michaels (“St. Agatha”) and Elisa Manzini (“Angel Baby”).
Upcoming films from Benacus Entertainment are "Walden," written and directed by Mick Davis ("Modigliani"), and "Double Down South," written and directed by Oscar winner Tom Schulman ("Dead Poets Society").
Iuvit's EFM slate includes "Johnny Puff" starring Johnny Depp, "Walden" starring Emile Hirsch and Shane West, "Fight Pride" starring Daniel Stisen, Randy Couture and Sara Pallini, "Bury Me" , starring James Duval and Tina Majorino and “A Grand Romantic Gesture,” starring Gina McKee, Douglas Hodge and Dylan Llewellyn.
Taylor is represented by Verve Talent and Literary Agency and Fourward. Morley is represented by The Gersh Agency and Brave Artists Management.
