 Sixteen-year-old Alex Fixel has always felt out of step; with his well-to-do Portland parents, with his private school classmates, and with herself. When Alex's parents interrupt her impetuous attempt to seduce her high school English teacher, they plan to send her to boarding school. But before Alex leaves, she finds an old letter on her mother's desk indicating that her biological father is not the man who raised her; instead, he is a small-town mechanic, and ex-con, named Karl Hendricks.


Alex escapes from her new boarding school and tracks down her father. Over the next week, Alex and Karl's fragile and volatile attempts at connection fade into a heartfelt father-daughter bond... Until Alex learns the devastating truth about his roots, which threatens to destroy both his former and to his new family.

Gravitas Ventures has released the official theatrical trailer for Ben Epstein's ("In the Vault," "Happyland") coming-of-age drama Who Are You People ahead of the film's North American release on February 24, 2023, the day and release date.


Written and directed by Epstein, and starring Ema Horvath ("The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power," What Lies Beneath), Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Hunter Hunter, "Chucky"), Yeardley Smith ("The Simpson, ” Maximum Overdrive), Peter Parros (“Real Genius,” “Knight Rider”), Siddharth Dhananjay (Bloodshot, “Undone”), Reid Miller (Joe Bell, “You”), with John Ales (“Euphoria,” True Story”), and Alyssa Milano (“Charmed,” Commando), “Who Are You People” unfolds through the eyes of 16-year-old protagonist Alex (Horvath), who, after a failed attempt to seduce his A teacher, she runs away from boarding school to find the biological father (Sawa) that her mother (Milano) and her alleged father (Ales) always kept hidden and learn the dark secret of her roots.


Who Are You People received its world premiere at last year's Mammoth Film Festival, with Horvath taking home the coveted Best Actress award.
