After a long wait and much speculation, DC has finally released a new trailer for his upcoming solo film by Barry Allen aka Flash, The Flash. The film will revolve around the Flashpoint comic book story. Rumors were circulating that Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton would have a particular role to play, but with DC Studios being swindled with the appointment of James Gunn and Peter Safran, everything seemed to be hanging by a thread.
When the trailer is finally released, fans will once again get a glimpse of the speedster from the DC Universe. But the trailer's MVP was Keaton's first glimpse as the caped crusader. He got fans super excited and nostalgic. Keaton's Batman was released in 1989, followed by Batman Returns in 1992, and director Tim Burton did both.
Director: Andy Muschietti
Writers: Christina Hodson, Joby Harold
Stars: Ben Affleck, Michael Shannon, Michael Keaton
The first official trailer for The Flash has been released, giving us our first look at the Ezra Miller-directed superhero movie that James Gunn recently described as "one of the best superhero movies ever made." The trailer shows off plenty of new footage featuring Miller's Barry Allen and the DCU debuts of Michael Keaton's Batman and Sasha Calle's Supergirl.
“Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel through time and change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry is trapped in a reality where General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no superheroes to turn to. “That is, unless Barry can bring a very different Batman out of retirement from him and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian…even if he's not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world he finds himself in and return to the future he knows, Barry's only hope is to run for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to restart the universe?
The film is slated to star Ezra Miller, who reprises his role as Barry Allen/The Flash after playing him in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Justice League, Zack Snyder's Justice League, and The Flash and Peacemaker from C.W. Season 1.
Joining Miller are Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Sasha Calle as Supergirl and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, along with Keaton and Ben Affleck, who reprise their respective versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman for the film.
The Flash will be released in theaters on June 16, 2023. The film is directed by IT's Andy Muschietti from the latest script written by Christina Hodson. It is being produced by Marianne Jenkins with Michael Disco and Barbara Muschietti serving as producers.
