Netflix released the first trailer for its upcoming fantasy animated series, ONI: Thunder God's Tale, which is set to hit the platform on October 21, 2022.
The series features a hybrid of stop motion and computer generated animation. It is set in a world full of eccentric gods and monsters from Japanese mythology. It follows one of the creature's free-spirited daughters, Onari, who is determined to follow in the footsteps of the mighty heroes of lore, but her unique powers are yet to be revealed. The series explores whether she has the power to protect her peaceful village from the invading presence of the mysterious "Oni" that threatens the gods.
Oni: Thunder God's Tale is headed to Netflix, and we just got our first look at the four-part animated event! Tsutsumi is serving as executive producer alongside Robert Kondo and Kang Lee. Sara K. Sampson serves as producer. From the footage we got of the series in the new trailer, we can tell that it's a love letter to the mythology that Tsutsumi and writer Mari Okada are bringing to life. It's a new era for Netflix in terms of their lineup of animated projects, but from the trailer, it's clear that Oni: Thunder God's Tale is a wonderful little love story for this mythology and it's clear that both Tsutsumi and Okada love it. the history. they are saying
