Marvel has released the trailer for "I Am Groot," which will debut all five shorts on Disney+ on August 10. I Am Groot is a collection of five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone's favorite little tree, and featuring several new and unusual characters. All five shorts will be available for viewers to view upon release.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Groot first appeared in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy," in which the character sacrificed himself to be replaced by his son, "Baby Groot," who grew up as a descendant of Groot's body. the. "I am Groot" is set to explore Baby Groot's adventures across the galaxy away from the Guardians, as he meets new characters and finds himself in dangerous situations. Diesel returned to provide voiceovers for the series, and Bradley Cooper will once again provide the voice of Rocket Racoon, with other characters expected to return.
Each of the five animated shorts will explore a different point in Groot's childhood. The trailer shows Groot engaging in a fight with a militaristic group of little blue aliens, only to become their savior after a fart track proves to be a food source for the colony. Other clips shown include Groot exploring a giant spaceship, dancing with a gelatinous clone of himself, and dressing in moss-covered clothing.
Vin Diesel, who is the voice of Groot in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise, returns to provide the voice of Baby Groot for this short series. The writer and director is Kirsten Lepore and the executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winder Baum and James Gunn.
