Entergalactic will showcase music from the Kid Cudi album. The series follows a young artist named Jabari, voiced by Mescudi, as he tries to balance love and success. Finding the latter brings Jabari one step closer to the former, when moving into his dream apartment introduces him to his new neighbor, it-girl photographer Meadow, voiced by Williams. An explosion of art, music and fashion, Entergalactic takes place in the only city that can handle all three: New York.
Netflix has revealed its first look at Entergalactic, a new animated series starring Kid Cudi, Jessica Williams, and Timothée Chalamet, and it looks absolutely gorgeous.
The Netflix show, set to release later this year, is billed as an adult animated music television series that will tell the story of two young New York-based artists who meet and fall in love.
Granted, the brief plot synopsis for the series makes it sound pretty unoriginal, but there's a lot to get excited about in Entergalactic. Not only does the animated show have an absolutely stacked cast, but its visual style and tone are irresistibly beautiful. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's as impressive as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse or any other Netflix animated series in Arcane.
Stars: Jessica Williams, Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens
Cudi, credited as Scott Mescudi, stars in the series as Jabari, a passionate young artist who moves into his dream apartment alongside Meadow (Jessica Williams), a stylish and confident photographer. The show follows the two as they meet, develop a relationship, and navigate their respective careers together. Timothée Chalamet, Ty Dolla $ign, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Christopher Abbott, 070 Shake, Jaden Smith, Keith David, Teyana Taylor, Arturo Castro and Macaulay Culkin voice the series' supporting cast.
Cudi created the series with Ian Edelman. The two previously worked together in 2010, when Cudi played a supporting character in "How To Make It in America," which Edelman created. The two are executive producers of the series "Entergalactic," with Cudi serving as executive producer through his production company Mad Solar. Additional executive producers include Fletcher Moules, who is serving as series director, Kenya Barris through her production company Khalabo Ink Society, and Maurice Williams.
“Entergalactic” will be accompanied by an album of the same name. Both the album and the show will feature music composed by Cudi's longtime collaborators Dot da Genius and Plain Pat. The album was initially going to be Cudi's follow-up to his 2016 project "Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin'", before being delayed so Cudi could focus on "Man on the Moon III: The Chosen", which was released on 2020.
