Star Wars: Detours TV-Show Review 2019 Cast Crew
Creators: George Lucas
Stars: Todd Grimes, Dee Bradley Baker, Abraham Benrubi
Just before Lucasfilm's purchase at Disney, Seth Green and Matt Senreich (Robot Chicken) had been working on an animated Star Wars series called "Star Wars Detours." They had been working on it for 4 years, wrote 62 scripts, and completed 39 episodes before the Disney purchase when it was archived to make way for the new era of Star Wars with Kathleen Kennedy.
The fans practically wrote this series thinking that it might never be published to the public. However, today comes the news of several official trademarks that are presented with the name "Star Wars Detours." This is a sign that something is happening with this series, after all. Why would they present brands in a 7-year program that has never seen the light of day? I guess Disney's new direct broadcast service will be launched in 2019. They are now preparing for that launch, and they want as much new content as possible, no matter how old the new subscribers are. 2019 is going to be crazy for Star Wars fans!
Do you remember Star Wars Detours? The project, which was first launched in 2009 and was officially announced by Lucasfilm in 2010, was a comedy series animated with the characters and configuration of the Star Wars universe. Unlike the more serious science fiction adventure stories told elsewhere, Star Wars Detours was told through a silly, comic lens from the creators of Robot Chicken Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. So, why have we never seen it?
After Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, many of the projects that were under construction ended up being archived, many indefinitely. Star Wars Detours was one of them. Despite having almost 40 episodes completed and ready for the air, Disney and Lucasfilm postponed the series and have kept it on a shelf since then. However, some trademark submissions may indicate that a Star Wars Detours release may be in our future. Emphasize "power". If you have never heard of Star Wars Detours, this is the project we are talking about:
The Star Wars Leaks Reddit noted that Lucasfilm presented five trademarks related to Star Wars Detours: Education and Entertainment Services
Toys, games and toys; Gymnastic and sporting articles (except clothes); handheld units for playing electronic games for use with or without an external display screen or monitor; Christmas stockings; Ornaments and decorations for Christmas trees; Snow globes Clothing, footwear and headgear.
Paper and paper articles; cardboard and cardboard items; printed; publications; books; Photographs; pictures portraits; Stationery; Office and school supplies. Apparatus for the recording, transmission or reproduction of sound or images; audiobooks; audio recordings; audio and visual recordings; video game software; computer programs and software; consumer electronics and accessories therefore; Eyeglasses and sunglasses and accessories therefore; binoculars; decorative magnets; graduate governors; microphones.
The reason we believe that this trademark presentation does not mean that a version of Star Wars Detours is on the horizon is because of how registered trademarks work. After the initial presentation of the brand, the first renewal must be done in five years. Since Star Wars Detours was in development in 2009, it would have been when the first presentation of the brand took place. That would explain why Lucasfilm presented exactly the same trademarks in August 2014.
In addition, the second renewal of a trademark occurs four years after the first renewal, or nine years after the initial submission. This year marks four years since the first renewal in August 2014 and nine years since the initial presentation of the brand. So we think that this is just the performance of Disney and Lucasfilm, and our own sources corroborate this presumption by saying that they have not heard anything about the launch of the series. But let's play the devil's lawyer for the fun of it.
