Gentleman Jack TV-Show Review 2019 Cast Crew

Stars: Joe Armstrong, Jessica Baglow, Amelia Bullmore

Both HBO and BBC are no strangers to historical dramas, but it certainly seems that "Gentleman Jack" has a unique protagonist for any of the networks. Based on his extensive personal writings, the nineteenth century landowner and prominent social rebel Anne Lister has a series of his own, which will debut in the United States next month. Suranne Jones plays the businesswoman dressed in black, who not only sought to develop industrial projects on her family's lands, but also made known her intentions to marry a wife in the process. The series combines a central romance between Lister and her intention, Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle), and Lister's attempts to revitalize coal mining efforts on her family's property in Shibden Hall.

The series comes from television station Sally Wainwright, who also wrote and created the British police drama "Happy Valley," which eventually came under the flag of Netflix Originals after its premiere on BBC One. Wainwright also helped create a series of other series, such as "Scott & Bailey", "Last Tango in Halifax" and "Unforgiven", which also starred Jones.

Jones intervenes in the role that Maxine Peak assumed earlier, who played the main character in the 2010 BBC production "The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister." The rest of the "Gentleman Jack" group outside of Jones includes Gemma Whelan, Gemma Jones, Timothy West, and Peter Davison.

"Gentleman Jack" will be aired as part of HBO's Monday night schedule. The eight-episode season will coincide with the arrival of the new limited series "Chernobyl" in early May. HBO and BBC also rejoin as a team later this year for "His Dark Materials," a new series based on Phillip Pullman's novels.

"Gentleman Jack" debuts on April 22 on HBO.

The Old Man Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

Dan Chase, the lead in FX's new drama The Old Man, is on the run. They're chasing him, do you see what they did there? — by various US government agencies, at least one deadly contractor, and international adversaries. He is an intelligent man, but his main antagonist is time: a past that catches up with him and a future that becomes more finite. It's a role made for Jeff Bridges, one of those actors who was born to and into Hollywood stardom and has gracefully grown from golden boy to septuagenarian savant on movie screens across the country. As a thriller, The Old Man doesn't always deliver. His internal logic is spotty and his backstory shallow. As a showcase for Bridges and John Lithgow, the rare actor almost able to match his indelible co-star role in another indelible role, The Old Man is far more satisfying, though audiences will yearn for a more direct interplay between the two perfect notes. drives and less of the genre filler that stretches three of the four e
