NBC has ordered the drama series "The InBetween" for the 2018-2019 season.

The series focuses on Cassie Bishop, who was born with a gift, although she may call it a curse. She can see and communicate with the dead, helping them with their unresolved problems, like it or not. When your longtime friend det. Tom Hackett and his new partner, former FBI agent Damien Asante, need help to solve a mysterious and disconcerting murder, Cassie agrees to use their skills. Despite his reluctance, he may have found a way to keep his demons at bay, while solving some of the most difficult cases in the city.The cast includes Harriet Dyer, Anne-Marie Johnson, Cindy Luna, Chad James Buchanan and Paul Blackthorne.



Moira Kirland will write and produce executive products. Charlotte Sieling will direct and execute the pilot. David Heyman and Nancy Cotton are also executive producers. "The InBetween" is produced by Universal Television, NBCU International Television Studio and Heyday Television.

Kirland most recently served as co-producer and executive writer of the CBS drama "Madam Secretary." His other credits include "Hawaii Five-0," "Arrow," "Castle," "Medium," and "The Dead Zone." The last two shows also focused on an investigator with paranormal abilities.

Heyday Television was formed in 2015 as a joint venture with NBCUniversal Intl. The studios will produce premium television and digital content on all platforms, including the open air network, the cable and the subscription VOD.

The order marks the sixth order of drama of NBC for the next season and its eighth order in general. Previously, the network ordered the dramas "The Gilded Age", "Manifest", "The Village", "New Amsterdam" and "The Enemy Within". NBC also ordered the comedies "Abby's" and "I Feel Bad."
