Always a Witch TV-Show Review 2019 Cast Crew

Stars: Sebastian Eslava, Cristina Warner, Sofia Bernal Araujo

With Netflix's recent enthusiasm for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which was a resounding success, it was only a matter of time before the platform gave the international scene an equivalent to compete. Netflix Original Series Always a Witch, or known in their native language as Always Witch, is a carefree tale of a witch pursued in the Colombian city of Cartagena in 1600, who is only traveling through time until 2019.

Its objective is clear: Carmen (Angely Gaviria) must go to the future and return a stone, and if they return it, she will return to the present, and her lover, who was shot down because she supposedly bewitched him, will live again. Always a Witch offers an excellent opportunity to try to reproduce the possible events of the 1600s with a design of questionable wardrobe and unreliable beards, but the circumstances of being an apparent witch centuries ago stand out conveniently to set the stage.

Always a Witch relies on the previously seen story of someone who travels to the future and can not adapt to the modern lifestyle. Especially in the first episodes, Carmen struggles with the necessary annoyances of how a hospital works, a television and even cross the street. It is a scenario in some materials, which is not boring, and fortunately, the actress offers excellent performance by recognizing what it would be like to be in the same place at a different time.

Ultimately, the goal is for Carmen to recover her lover and, in doing so, she needs to find the right person to return the stone. Therefore, the character has to be a witch in the present and learn about his new life. She expresses the fear of staying stuck in 2019 and not being able to return to her partner, but at the same time she can not catch the phone calls and the dangers of social networks.

Always a witch works on the story a bit, confusing the plot with new characters with different objectives and hitting the wildest acquaintances who change the story to a completely new perspective. It is almost as if the motivation of the series to modernize the story defeats Carmen's character justification, which is wrapped in scenes that are separate from the general narrative. The main objective is never ignored, but Always a Witch wants to make sure there is a journey of adjustment and secondary stories that do not work.

Always a witch is fine; It will not excite as much as Sabrina, but if this is your thing, at least it is attractive enough.

Becoming Elizabeth 2022 Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

Is there really anything else that television can say about the Tudors? 16th-century British royalty has inspired elegant installments of Masterpiece Theatre, a tawdry Showtime soap opera, and all sorts of adaptations of Philippa Gregory's best-selling women-centric historical novels. For nearly a decade, Gregory's books have served as the backbone of Starz's historical romance slate: The White Queen, The White Princess and two seasons of The Spanish Princess traced the line of succession from Elizabeth Woodville's reign in the height of the War of the Roses to the marriage of Catalina Aragón with a young Henry VIII. Now Starz is changing gears, but not order of succession, with Becoming Elizabeth. The tagline for the series is “The queen you know. The girl who doesn't. Tudor stalwarts like yours may disagree with the sentiment because we like to think we already know it all. However, Starz's latest female-centric costume drama excels at showing audiences that t...
